What really makes the announcements awesome is getting to teach new students. For a little while when I was younger, I used to want to be a teacher. My kindergarten teacher started this career dream when I was in her class and was her teachers assistant, sort of, and I liked it. It was because It was because I liked learning and it just felt right to help other people learn. Teaching during the announcements is just like that. The rewarding felling that you get when your team does a good job on the morning announcements also is another reason why I like teaching beginners on the morning announcements.
I always like working the morning announcements, even before I got to teach new students. I always felt really cool working with the TriCaster and the cameras. It made me feel really smart. It also is really nice to come to the library in the morning and put on a show for the whole school to see. It also gives you a tiny adrenaline rush because what you are doing is being televised for 900 of your peers all around the school to see, and all the things you do right and wrong will be seen all over school.
While is still like doing them, the bell schedule has messed them up a little bit. We used to say what would be for lunch and wiki because the announcements used to be the first thing once you got into school, but it isn't any more. For the "A" team, it plays after wiki and right before lunch, but for the "B" team, it plays after wiki and lunch, so when they say what is for lunch, they would already know because they already ate. It also doesn't play on Wednesdays at all. This is because there is no advisory.
All in all, I still really like working the morning announcements, especially because I get to teach new people. Even though the bell schedule change has messed it up a little bit, I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying the CKTV News.
