So this year, we are almost done with done with fundraising! Yay! The only fundraiser that we have left is a gift wrapping session at Kukui Grove. After that, we are all done for the entire year. All the fundraisers were a lot of fun, they were just really time consuming. They were necessary though because without them, the cost of the STN Trip might have been to high. This is my last year, so I no longer will do anymore fundraisers for the media class. This last fundraiser will be awesome though, and I can't wait for it.
This upcoming wednesday is the final due date for our quarter projects. I think that my quarter project is going to be done on time and it is on track. It is on track for three reasons. They are, we have finished filming, done with the script, and are nearing completion on our editing.
We have finished filming despite some setbacks. These setbacks include having a hard time contacting one of our interviewees and filming an interview with no sound. Because we had a hard time contacting this person, we were behind schedule. When we did get in contact with hime, the scripts were already due. I was off island when my partner had to film the interview, and unfortunately, we had no sound. We were over a week late with our scripts. We did finish them though, within two days of getting our final interview. This is good because this helped us to recover and get back on track. We submitted our scripts as fast as we could. We had already done part of the script by the time that we got our interview, so getting it done quickly was not as hard as it could have been. We are also almost done editing. We also started a portion of editing before we had got our final interview, so that saved us a bit of time as well. We now only have to finish laying down the b-roll and insert the voice overs. This can be done relatively quickly, so we will have this done on Monday. So these are the reasons that our project is on track. We are done with filming and the script, and editing is almost done so that we will have a rough cut submitted on Monday. This project will be submitted early unlike last quarter, and will be better quality. Today was the day of our annual CKTV Breakfast. We have it every year and it is one of our major fundraisers. We earn money from the breakfast, lucky number drawings, and Bingo. This year was a lot of un because I got to do a job with all of my friends. The job that I worked was bus boy. I picked up everyone's trash when they where done eating. I also thanked every one whose trash I picked up. This breakfast was better than last year's breakfast because last year, It was extremely hot and humid, but today it was nice and cool. IF you came, thank you very much for your support!!
I have not yet received an email from my pen pal from Castaic, but when I do, I will share with them three important things. I will first share with them my name and what grade I am in, and then I will tell them a little bit about or media class, and then I will share with them what its like to live in Kauai.
I will tell them my name, Ben Brady, and my grade; eighth, just so that they do not feel like they are emailing a total stranger. I also do not think that this information is to personal to give out to my pen pal(s). I also think that I should share this with him/her because they always do so with me. The second thing that I will share with them is a little bit about our media class. I think that this would be a nice thing to share with them. They are also in a media class, and I am curious to know what their class is like, so why not tell them a little bit about mine. It is nothing too personal and I'll probably end up talking to them about it at STN. The final thing that I will tell them about is what its like to live on Kauai. This just seems like a good thing to share if we want to get to know each other better. A huge part of what makes a person who you are is where you grew up, so for us to get to know each other better, it might be great idea to get to know each other. It also won't be too personal because they already know that we live on Kauai. So these are the three things that I will share with my pen pal once they email me. I will tell them my name and grade, all about the class that I am in, and what its like to live in Hawaii. |
